How do you convince someone to believe you?
One method is with evidence.
You can show them proof after proof that what you are saying is true until they are forced to confront your ideas.
But this is largely ineffective because the other side can conduct studies of their own and come back at you with proof that counters your own.
Instead, to convince someone of your position, it is far more effective to take their side then show them the consequences of their actions if left unchecked.
This is exactly what I plan to do in this following piece regarding the Metaverse.
I think of the metaverse like this: essentially it is an attempt at making the internet a more immersive and important aspect of our lives; the end result is a universe within a universe hosted online.
Currently, employees at Meta, Microsoft and other big tech corporations are pursuing augmented, virtual and mixed reality research; all of which will contribute to the development and eventual adoption of the metaverse.
However, they are not taking into account the repercussions their actions could have on the rest of society; in particular, incels.
Less Value on Physical Attractiveness
The first important disruption caused by the metaverse will be a complete shattering of the blackpill as we know it.
Physical attraction will be of less importance in relationships due to the ability to customize your avatar to better represent your own image of yourself.
What does this mean?
Every guy will look like Chad and every woman will look like Stacy.
If the ugly Jew in his mom's basement wants to look like a muscular movie star he can.
Likewise, if the morbidly obese woman wants to turn herself into a blonde Cinderella so that she can find her prince charming, she can too.
The result is a complete removal of reality and the truths that come along with it; the blackpill is shattered.
But this will only lead to a marked increase in the number of incels worldwide.
Remote Relationships
A major concern of mine with regards to the rise of the metaverse is an excuse for widespread adoption of long-distance relationships.
Think about it for a moment.
Long-distance relationships have only become practical due to advancements in technology.
Without a pen and paper, Romeo cannot write to Juliet; without a cellphone, Pete cannot call Amanda; without the internet, Jake Paul cannot send Julia Rose a message on Discord.
The common theme is that, as communication technology has advanced, so to has our ability to engage in long-distance relationships.
Well, if our communication technology eventually emulates face-to-face communication, it necessarily follows that long-distance relationships could become a fixture or even the norm for society.
What this eventually leads to is remote relationships.
If we can work from home, why can't we date from home?
Via the metaverse, a man in the future may have the ability to date his girlfriend in India without having to leave his room.
The only thing he will be missing is sex.
Since the relationship is remote, both parties will have to resort to mutual masturbation with each other to resolve sexual tension.
Depending on how good the technology becomes and how many senses it is able to stimulate, this mutual masturbation could end up becoming preferable to physical sex entirely.
But, in the end, it will also lead to more impetus for young men and young women to seek out online unions in favor of real relationships.
If this is allowed to escalate, it could lead to a potential worldwide inceldom for men and women; a society where it is taboo to have real sex.
Better Pornography
Finally, the metaverse will lead to far higher-quality and immersive pornographic content.
Already, we are seeing the rise of "Virtual Reality" porn which advertises itself as far more immersive than it's vanilla counterpart.
This is only just the beginning.
In the future, we could also start to begin seeing the adoption of artificially intelligent sex robots.
This could lead to young men seeking out relationships with robots in favor of relationships with real women.
After all, who wouldn't want their wife to be built on logic?
The effect this will have on young men is the exact same as remote relationships: less of a desire to seek out physical sex and an increased number of incels.
What this could eventually lead to is an incel crisis where 80% of the male population is sexless and 20% of the male population (those who have the money and power to physically travel the world) continue to have real sex.
If the metaverse resembles anything close to our real universe this could lead to two-tiered inceldom. The first tier of inceldom would be an inability to get laid in real life (perhaps shared by the majority of the population), the second tier of inceldom would be an inability to get laid in the metaverse itself.
The end result is a fragment of the population getting laid in the metaverse and an even smaller fragment getting laid in real life.
The Solution
Okay so the metaverse has some obvious concerns for the future incel.
But what can we do about it?
Right now the answer is increased discussion and debate in the hopes that we can sway the greater population to develop the metaverse, and all emerging technologies, in a responsible manner.
However, this will be extremely difficult to do; convincing someone to believe you is hard.
Instead, what is far more likely, is that incels will be forced to adopt the metaverse and will be forced to use it to cope.
The benefit of this, of course, is that the incel will have some semblance of a better life by gaining access to conversation with women (fake or real) and the ability to engage in sexual acts with them (even if only virtually).
And yet the incel still remains just that; an involuntary celibate.
