Retweeting is generally just showing that you agree with that one individual tweet, it's not an endorsement of every view that person has ever expressed, every action they have done, or their character.

Too many people overthink retweets or when someone likes a video or whatever. Whenever someone famous retweets something from someone who may or may not be racist or sexist, it becomes a big thing and the media goes apeshit. Recently it happened with pewdiepie only instead of a retweet, he showed part of a video from a youtuber who made other videos that were a bit more "edgy".
