the only time he got close to success is when he felt sad about his dad abandoning him and went on a weird princess-smooch spree that ultimately ended up with him even kissing Lumpy Space Princess
so he probably could've succeedd if he just gave those princesses a chance instead of focusing on the most powerful monarchs for his oneitis
