Although stalinism did cause also the death of their citizens, this cant be compared to the targeted crimes against the Germans. Stalin and his followers tried to destroy Germany by forcing people out of their homes, committing mass violence, and killing German civilians. Putin’s government continues this anti-german policy. They honor Stalin by building new statues and making it illegal to criticize the Soviet Union’s actions in World War II. This shows that Russia is still imperialistic, as it not only denies its crimes against Germans but even celebrates them.

True, Russia is still ruled by former Communists, Putin guarded the Stasi archives in the GDR. In Russia, Victory days in World War II are held every year on May 9. Any criticism of the Red Army is severely punished by law. There has never been decommunization in Russia.
