On my thread "Truecel trait: You view Elliott Rodger and all the incel characters in movies as fakecels", I mentioned how I have been around the incel movement since its inception in the year 2000. incels.is member @Kanye's Cousin asked me how the online incelsphere was 25 years ago. So I decided to create this thread.

The online incel movement started circa the year 2000 when a toilet named Alana created an Involuntary Celibacy message board. The name of the message board was something like "Alana's Involuntary Celibacy Project". I joined Alana's message board in the year 2000, within a few months of when the message board was created. I was active on that message board for about a year or two. Then I didn't have an internet connection for several years, and so I stopped participating. By the year 2006, I was homeless, but I had internet access at a library. So in 2006, I joined a different incel message board. I don't think that Alana's message board still existed in 2006. I don't remember the name of the incel message board i joined in 2006, but it was not incels.is. I was active on that message board until 2008 when I was banned because I said that in the days of arranged marriages, I would benefit from arranged marriages because a woman would be forced to marry me, guaranteeing me a wife.

Then I did not participate in any incel message boards for twelve years until I joined an incel message board in 2020. This message board was not incels.is, but I don't remember the name of this message board either. This message board I joined in 2020 was closed down in 2022 IIRC. Then I joined incels.is.

So how was the online incelsphere different 25 years ago? Well, it was a lot different from 2000-2008. When I returned to incel message boards in 2020, the online incelsphere was just like it is now. In the online incelsphere from 2000-2008, toilets were allowed to join incel message boards and (falsely) claim that they were incels. The toilets would claim that they are just as incel as us guys, even though the toilets wouldn't touch us guys with a ten feet long pole. The toilets would be Chad only and then claim to be incel. About 30% of the members of the incel message boards were toilets from 2000-2008. The moderators on these message boards would ban any incel who posted anything that the moderators thought was misogynistic. So back then, we incels were not allowed to call the toilets toilets or foids. The terms incel for involuntary celibate, volcel (voluntary celibate), and marcel (married celibate) were around from the very beginning in 2000. 90% of the members of this message board would get banned from the incel message boards from 2000-2008.

Most of the members of the online incelsphere would post photos of themselves on the message boards from 2000-2008, and I have to say, my impression is that they would mog the average incel person at this message board. They were a fairly decent looking bunch. They said that physical traits were not a significant cause of incel (which is beyond stupid). They got mad at me because I claimed that I was the only true incel because they were all tremendously taller and better looking than I am (5'1" and hideously ugly). The online incel message boards from 2000-2008 had a higher percentage of fakecels than incels.is has (even though we have fakecels too). Most members of the incel message boards from 2000-2008 were "Stacy only" or "Chad only".

Another difference is that the incel message boards from 2000-2008 were a lot more politically correct back then. They didn't allow any racism or sexism or any other type of ism.

The online incelsphere today has at least 100X more members than there was from 2000-2008.

The words blackpill and bluepill and redpill didn't exist back on the incel message boards from 2000-2008. And all the variations of words with pill at the end (such as heightpill, racepill, etc.) didn't exist on the incel message boards.

On the incel message boards from 2000-2008, I don't remember race ever being mentioned as a cause of incel. I never saw the acronym JBW until 2020.

Those are the most salient differences.

Incel culture really picked up from 2018 onwards

Yeah I can believe that because incel culture was totally different when i returned in 2020 from how it was in 2008 and earlier.

Everything is different in the online incelsphere today. We didn't call truecels subhuman from 2000-2008. So there would be nobody with your screen name (or my screen name) on the message boards from 2000-2008.

Here is another difference that just occurred to me: The online incelsphere did not have the word mog from 2000-2008.

damn really that's not true is it

damn really that's not true is it
It is true.

Most of the jargon we have today in the online incelsphere did not exist back then.

Incels didn't use the word "ascend" to mean to have sex with a woman without paying for it from 2000-2008 either.

The definition of an incel on Alana's Involuntary Celibacy message board was someone who wanted to have sex but had not had sex in the last six months.

So if a guy had had free sex with ten women in his life, but it was all over six months ago, they would define that guy as an incel. LOL

Is there anyone else here who was a member of Alana's Involuntary Celibacy Project message board?

The only words with cel in them that existed in the online incelsphere from 2000-2008 were incel, volcel, and marcel.

So the words truecel, fakecel, oldcel, dickcel, shortcel, facecel, etc. did not exist from 2000-2008.

Most users here - including me - are young, below the age of 25, so it’s highly unlikey you will find one.

I find it hard to believe that you were part of the original incel message board, but it is crazy if true.

Something I see incels here do often is idolize the past of the incel community, but as you said here even foids were allowed to be incel back then and you weren’t allowed to be anti foid. Even the 2017cels of this forum were pretty bad, if you look at the old posts there were a bunch of faggots and fakecels.

Thank you for the thread, you're a legend in my eyes. Thanks for the history lesson. I've been around the incelsphere for about 10 years. Incels had a bad rep so I didn't want to associate with them but through TFL videos on YouTube I warned up to them. Honestly around that time it was a lot like it is today, in terms of terminology, basic concepts, combativeness, and lack of political correctness.

Yeah because the online incelsphere is totally different now than it was 25 years ago.
evidently. Getting a sense of what it was like back then was neat, thanks for taking the time to write it up.

You're welcome.

I had been thinking about creating a thread about this topic for several months actually, and your post spurred me to go ahead and do it today.

Not surprising that toilets instantly resorted to banning anyone who pointed out their chad only tendencies. Pretty interesting thread tho, enjoyed the history lesson.

Thank you for this post

I'm thankful that we at least have our own safe space now.

This needs to be stickied on the Inceldom board

On the original incel message boards from 2000-2008, everyone except me was very bluepilled. I was about the only blackpilled person on the incel message boards from 2000-2008.

On my thread I created yesterday "Truecel trait: you think Elliott Rodger and all the incel characters in movies are fakecels", @fullofchagrin wrote something like: "Having good social skills is far more important than looks."

@fullofchagrin would fit right in on the incel message boards from 2000-2008.

What were the most memorable threads on those 2000-2008 incel message boards?

The threads in which the topic was the cause of involuntary celibacy
What were the answers? How did people react when someone mentioned how important looks are for inceldom?

I don't remember the details. A lot of these conversations were over 20 years ago.

All I remember is what I have already written. The consensus was that poor social skills and a lack of confidence were the causes of inceldom. I was chastised when I wrote that short stature and ugly facial features are the main causes of inceldom.

incel spaces were very bluepilled back then, heck bluepill wasnt even a term, this was during the height of PUA and pre-online dating

I think mystery the PUA came up with AMOG (alpha male of the group) around that time, which became MOG about a decade ago

Interesting read, thanks for posting

I was familiar with a bit of this such as how the first "Incel" board kinda arose around the early 2000s, but I always did question how true the claim was the term was coined or at least first used by a foid.

Interesting you went on such a long hiatus; you missed out on ER, PUA & redpill stuff in the early-mid 2010s, Alek Minassian, R/Incels and all that stuff.
So if a guy had had free sex with ten women in his life, but it was all over six months ago, they would define that guy as an incel. LOL
Smartest fem"cel" :feelskek::feelshaha:

iirc, the original R/Incel or R/Incels once allowed users who had sex in the past but been on a dry-spell for a year to post there. This place also used to allow blackpilled normies.

From what I understand, they're talking of mid-late 2018 onwards. 2017 ofc had a lot of spillover from Reddit which explains the faggot & fakecel part, looksmax.org also wasn't a thing until around late 2018 so all the looksmax-tier users migrated there.
incel spaces were very bluepilled back then, heck bluepill wasnt even a term, this was during the height of PUA and pre-online dating
It sounds like it was R/lonely or R/foreveralone kinda

any other fringe lingo they used?
Those old incel forums sounded like a bunch of sex addicted normcattle eaters who were woefully upset that they were going through a dry spell. JFL. Hope they like what their little project became :)

What I'm really I'm really interested in knowing is what was the transition from those incels to modern incels...
From what I think I know, old 4chan users loved to regularly identified as incels back then, so maybe that's where it came from.
As for 4chan, it was forum created in 2003 with the reputation of the stereotypical internet user back then (which was very negative. "Only guys who were loser outcasts loved to regularly browse public chatrooms / forums for socialization. Who else would be using it to socialize.")

Edit: Also, PUAHate was bluepilled on looks until 2009 when two users kept spamming looks theory

Also, there was a YouTuber I forgot who made a video about our origin and he says that the earliest use of the word 'blackpill' in incel forums was in Jan 2018 or something (I totally forgot). But that's false. I was reading old incel archives of posts calling themselves blackpilled before 2018 (or whatever date that YouTuber said).
heck bluepill wasnt even a term, this was during the height of PUA and pre-online dating
I've come to learn over the years that the origin of using redpill/bluepill to define things stemmed from the maxtrix movie immediately after it came out. Politics, philosophy, religion, & perhaps some niche interests I've never heard of.
I think mystery the PUA came up with AMOG (alpha male of the group) around that time, which became MOG about a decade ago
yes, true.
iirc, the original R/Incel or R/Incels once allowed users who had sex in the past but been on a dry-spell for a year to post there. This place also used to allow blackpilled normies.
fun fact, if you look at Reddit archives of r/incels, and you look up the mod usernames, you will see how one of them is now active on r/incelexit and regrets being in the community. If you look at his photos, he looks like a stereotypical unattractive sub5 mayocel framecel who'd identify as an incel. Looks like the typical dork who gets bullied a ton. Goes to show you how bluepilled incels were back then, or how the age breaks people mentally (making them start coping hardcore) if you start to deny the blackpill in 2025.

Also, r/incels has a lot of posts that still circulate to this day. r/unlovablecirclejerk (just like r/foreveralonejerk or r/truevirgin) for instance has a lot memes that were from that time era of blackpill.

Knowing this, it's sad how cucked reddit became given its original consoomer base. Imagine how much growth the incelosphere would've had if reddit never banned it (the same way the pandemic halted pop culture progression too tbhimo).
looksmax.org also wasn't a thing until around late 2018 so all the looksmax-tier users migrated there
the old looksmaxxing forum used to be called lookism.net and even Jordan Barrett was aware of it (and there's hard evidence on an .org thread that he browsed it).

I think mystery the PUA came up with AMOG (alpha male of the group) around that time, which became MOG about a decade ago
I have always wondered about the origin of the word mog.

Like I said up thread, the word mog did not exist as late as 2008.

incel spaces as a whole in the early days were more emo and less ragebait. You'd think of a mogger like kyleincel- thats the kind of fakecels that claimed inceldom back then. The REAL incels got rightfully angrier and eventually usurped these cucks out of their own creation, because they were never honest about who they really were

Was the incel forum called 'love-shy' that closed down in 2022?

It goes back further then that. In 1998-1999 you had boards of men who couldn't find a date. But
like you say they were on the left politically.

The de-population agenda and the rising of male beauty standards, affected a lot of men.

No.

This incel message board that shutdown in 2022 had incel in the name of the message board, but I don't remember the exact name.

I have lurked at love-shy, but I have never created an account to be a member of love-shy. I don't consider love-shy to be an incel message board. Love-shy is an involuntarily single message board. A person who wants to remain celibate but still have a girlfriend would belong on love-shy, but not here.

I might have been on incel-support. I don't remember the exact names of two of the four incel message boards that I have been a member of.

I actually participated in Elliot Rodger's threads on PuaHate in 2014 where he was just seen as kind of a goofball. He responded to my replies. I remember it feeling eerie to have "spoken" to a mass murderer after it happened. Made a thread about this before.

talk more about PUAHate. When did it start? How many members by year? Who were the jannies?

I've got a big thread on it but I joined in 2013 I believe after having seen it being linked in Bodybuilding.com. I don't remember the number of active users or anything about the jannies really. It was like the Wild West of the Blackpill. Where the modern Blackpill was founded. A lot of the modern lingo comes from there. I remember different eras, one was the male model era where Chico and Sean O'pry were being dissected and looks theory started taking shape.

Elliot was being angered by TYGER. Tyger would call him a cuckold. Erasiantigar was a
guy who hated white women with asian men, and Elliot was a product of that which he hated.
In a way the incel movement has anti-white racism roots.

I am pretty sure there was pro BBC
and white women propaganda going out as well?

Elliot hated the fact he was half asian. His first murders were the two asian
guys in his apartment, it was almost like he was trying to expel the asian out of him by
killing them. He then went out and couldn't get into the soronity house, panicked,
and then killed those women and that guy. At that point it was killing by proximity.

yeah most of our terminology is from redpill cucks :feelshaha: honestly with tiktok retards using much of it these days, some phrases have become quite embarassing to use such as "mog" or "maxx" :feelsUgh::society:

Wow, haven't seen the name Tyger in ages, unlocks memories.

Yes, he had immense self-hatred about being Asian.
