Buono hated his mother with a passion, but Bianchi however was a total mamma's boy. His mother was still sending him money while he was torturing and killing foid in LA.

Bianchi was a relatively charismatic man, but he had a low IQ.
He got his girlfriend pregnant at the age of 18 despite his mother forcing him to not date girls.

He had serious dependency issues and because his father died very early in his life, he did not have any real authority figure until he started living with his cousin and partner in crime Angelo Buono.

He had 8 children from 3 different women, and he would sleep with his sons girlfriends and groom high school girls and violently rape them, convincing them that it was just normal sex.
One interesting fact about him is that he was an obsessive cleaner.
During the investigation law enforcement did not find ANY fingerprints in his home where he killed and raped a lot of women and girls.
By 1970, Buono was living in Los Angeles, working for a successful auto upholstery business he started.
Bianchi's mother called Buono and said that she thought it would be a good idea for the two cousins to live together.
Buono was a loner, but he agreed to take Bianchi in make him a real man.
Bianchi looked up to Bono, admiring the "tough guy image" he projected.
In every social interaction, Buono would introduce himself as "the italian stallion" during his youth.
Despite having barely known each other previously, soon bonded over a shared "intense loathing of women".
Bianchi used fake certificates to work as a psychologist.
Before graduating to murder they decided to become pimps, coercing girls into taking money from them and making them believe they were agents for big modeling companies.
They flew out women from different states who had dreams of becoming a model and no money/housing.
They were the perfect victims.
They brainwashed and scared one of their victims (sabra hanan) so hard, the women returned back to house where she was being held outside her will and being raped and beaten by them and other people every day, after they let her out to go to Phoenix to bring back another girl that escaped.
The pimping business was hard and risky. They decided to purchase an "out-call client list" from another woman in order to send the girls and not have the johns at their house.
Remember Buono's cleanliness obsession. But turns out the list they were duped.
It was a list of in-call clients (johns come to the house). Buono was furious and wanted revenge, so hey killed their first victim to send a message to the woman who sold them the list.
Their primary method went something like this.
They would get into their car and go to areas full of sex workers.
They would flash the police badge that belonged to Buono's late father, and make the women believe that they were being arrested.
The women of course complied because the cousins were both very good at their crafts.
Buono was like a chameleon. He could go into different shapes and personas in a matter of seconds, and Bianchi was a lifetime wannabe cop.
The victims probably realized something was wrong when the car stopped in front of a house instead of a police station but by that time it was too late.

They strangled her with a rope, and they actually washed her body clean after she was dead to get rid of evidence.
Judith Lynn Miller was a 15 year old runaway, and they bound her neck, wrists, and ankles and strangled her to death with a ligature. They dumped her naked body right in a residential neighborhood.
The homeowner actually had to cover her with a tarp so the neighborhood kids wouldn't see a dead body on their way to school.
Lissa Kastin was 21, dhe wasn't a sex worker; she was a waitress and a ballet student saving money for her training.
They snatched her right off the street and was bound at the wrists and ankles and strangled with a ligature.
Jane King was 28, an aspiring actress.
Her body was found near a freeway ramp. She had been strangled, but because her body had been out there for weeks, the decomposition was so bad they couldn't even tell if she had been tortured like the others. She was trying to make it in Hollywood.
Dolores Cepeda (12) and Sonja Johnson (14). They were just getting off a school bus when they lured them into a car.
Both girls were raped and strangled, their bodies were found by a young boy cleaning up trash near Dodger Stadium.
Kristina Weckler, 20, suffered more than most.
Unlike the earlier victims, they didn't just strangle her right away, they injected her with Windex (cleaning fluid) to torture her.
When that didn't kill her fast enough, they used gas from an oven to asphyxiate her.
Lauren Wagner, 18, was a business student. Like Kristina, she was tortured.
They burned the insides of her hands with an electrical cord before strangling her.

Cindy Hudspeth 20, the final victim in LA.
She was working three jobs to pay for her car. After strangling her, they stuffed her body into the trunk of her own car and pushed the car off a cliff to make it look like an accident.
The duo didn't break up because of some big dramatic falling out; it happened because Bianchi's girfriend got sick of his constant lying.
She didn't know about the murders, she just thought that he was a flaky deadbeat, so she took their kid and moved to Washington. Bianchi followed her there in May 1978 and Buono was probably relieved to get rid of him because Bianchi was sloppy and reckless.
They didn't get caught because of some genius detective work in LA; they got caught because Bianchi was sloppy.
After the heat got too high in California, he ran off to Bellingham, Washington, and immediately killed two more women, Karen Mandic and Diane Wilder.
He lured them to a fake house-sitting gig and he was so incompetent he practically left a trail right to himself and was arrested almost immediately.
Once he was in custody, his attempt to plead insanity fell apart, so he turned on his cousin Angelo Buono to save himself.
Buono died of a heart attack in 2002. Bianchi is still serving life as of Nov 2025.
