Working out at home is the best. You can set up speakers to listen to your own music. Or turn on the tv and watch Rocky IV or something to pump you up while lifting weights.
All the machines atthe gym are kinda pointless anyways. All you really need is dumbells and a bench. If you got really serious then you'd get a squat rack and a barbell. It would pay for itself in less than a year.
