When normies say join a club they are speaking from their own normie worldview. They aren't ugly so socialising works well for them. Joined a car modding club once, left after a few months because foids with bone stock cars (apart from a vinyl wrap and maybe aftermarket wheels and coilovers) had literal awards thrown at them at the meets.
