I don't want to sound like an edgelord here, but I do wish to make a leap toward the bigger picture here. This site is mainly tailored towards venting frustrations about the causes of individual suffering, usually the suffering of the users, who tend to be selfish in nature.

I venture that the mere fact that suffering is possible is a cosmic war crime in and of itself.

I will add more to this thread if I feel like it. This is just a musing I've had for many years (and which I suspect everybody else has had as well) which I need to develop more thoroughly.

Anti-natalism?

Look up "theodicy".

Many theories to explain and justify suffering, none satisfying, imo.

No ethical God would ever allow suffering to exist in his creation.

Correct.

"Theodicy" is an artificial philosophical term created by Leibnitz. It is a joining of the Greek "theos" [meaning "god"] and "dike" [meaning "justice"]. The term is not found in Classical Greek. Its definitive strength is to defend the probity of god despite the unspeakably cruel reality of the world.

You ought to be familiar with Gnosticism. The Gnostics identified the god of the old testament as satan and declared the world to be unqualifiedly evil. The god of the Jews incidentally is satan.

We are in all likelihood presently living in one of many hells.

Kabbalists believe the world is actually a giant cube (I'm not joking). Satanists worship the cube as the cube -- whether figuratively or literally -- resembles and signifies hell. Please note the ubiquity of black-cube-worship in Judaism and Islam.

I personally believe the intelligence responsible for this world is malicious and insane.

Do you have any proof, empirical or purely ontological/logical, that this universe has a creator?

Good post btw

“Do you have any proof, empirical or purely ontological/logical, that this universe has a creator?” – Apart from my instincts -- which in a strictly positivist sense can never be marshalled as empirical proof of anything–no, I do not have any proof that this “universe” has a creator. Yet I still believe that it does after many years of thinking and studying. Please note that by “creator” I mean some species of non-human intelligence. My conception of god is not anthropomorphic – I don’t necessarily mean a “god” with the outward appearance of a man.

This response might sound eccentric to you. So if it does, you are free to stop reading.

I believe the world is some type of spiritual arena purposed to the extraction of energy, be it in the form of sex or suffering. All things are permissible in this place as long as an energetic/emotional/euphoric/dysphoric response is secured.

The purpose of life is plainly to create more life. Life repeats itself and feels extraordinary pleasure in the act of repetition.
It is the greatest absurdity that in order to relieve the pain of life we have to engage in that very same activity [sex] that enchained us here in the first place. You condemn another soul to experience the torment of this world just because you seek the cessation of your own suffering. The life that you shall have thence created is foredoomed to suffer beneath total ignorance obtaining consciousness in a world it knows utterly nothing of until it at last chances upon relief in the form of sex and in that moment risks geminating the struggle of its own life for yet another unknowing soul.

I think at the very least when someone comes to understand that suffering is categorically unacceptable and abhorrent that that individual must rightly denounce this world as a contemptible creation.

In your question you used the word “universe” to connote the greater realm we are experiencing. When you said “universe” I take it you meant the earth considered in the greater context of outer space and all its supposed infinitude. Perhaps you did not know (or perhaps you will just think I’m an idiot and disagree with me): There is no such thing as “outer space.” Outer space does not exist. No one knows what exists beyond the upper barrier. The notion of “planets” did not even exist until ~400 years ago. Neither the Sumerians, the Egyptians, the Hebrews, the Greeks, the Romans, ever spoke of any “planets” and many of the eminent astrological observers of these civilizations possessed more profound knowledge of the so-called “universe” than men do today. This is what Mars actually looks like/is:
And no: I don’t necessarily believe the earth is either flat or spherical. I don’t know what the earth is.

The actual dimensions of our world are not known.

Check out this hilarious quote from Edwin Hubble: “The assumption of uniformity has much to be said in its (heliocentrism/Big Bang theory) favour. If the distribution were not uniform, it would either increase with distance, or decrease. But we would not expect to find a distribution in which the density increases with distance, symmetrically in all directions. Such a condition would imply that we occupy a unique position in the universe, analogous, in a sense, to the ancient conception of a central earth. The hypothesis cannot be disproved but it is unwelcome and would be accepted only as a last resort in order to save the phenomena. Therefore, we disregard this possibility and consider the alternative, namely, a distribution which thins out with distance (Big Bang Theory).”

The sun itself is known in Hebrew as “ayin ha-rah”, literally meaning “eye of evil.” Copernicus resurrected the kabbalistic notion of a sun-centered and infinite universe. (Here’s another etymological lesson if you’re still reading: the word “Kabbalah” is the concatenation of “kabba” (meaning “cube”) and “El” (meaning “god”). Kaballah literally means “the cube of god.”) This notion was originally and thoroughly Masonic (Judaic) until Pythagoras popularized it in Greece. Watch:

Very evil men have *always* worshipped some sort of deity/non-human intelligence. I sincerely doubt these men are misled in their knowledge. A lot of these men join different hidden societies because they are unsatisfied with their understandings of the world. I personally (though I may be completely wrong) believe it is not possible to ascertain a logically lucid understanding of our situation.

The spirit of this world recks of nothing save constant sexual competition and bloodlust. Women for example when ovulating are uniformly drawn to evil behavioral traits and are aroused by the sight of stronger men belittling weaker men.

Here’s another excellent quote: “I regard marriage as a sin and propagation of children as a crime. It is my conviction also that he is a fool, and still more a sinner, who takes upon himself the yoke of marriage - a fool, because he thereby throws away his freedom, without gaining a corresponding recompense; a sinner, because he gives life to children, without being able to give them the certainty of happiness. I despise humanity in all its strata; I foresee that our posterity will be far more unhappy than we are; and should not I be a sinner, if, in spite of this insight, I should take care to leave a posterity of unhappy beings behind me? The whole of life is the greatest insanity. And if for eighty years one strives and inquiries, still one is obliged finally to confess that he has striven for nothing and has found nothing. Did we at least know why we are in this world! But to the thinker, everything is and remains a riddle; and the greatest good luck is that of being born a flathead.” Alexander von Humboldt.

My intelligence tells me I know very little and even by all the sustained labor of studying and by all the years of earnest observing I seem unable to meaningfully understand anything in this world as it relates to causality. I cannot with my own eyes figure out where we are living. To say, for instance, that we live on “earth” is without any serious significance. I feel this world in my heart to be an indecipherable hell. There appear to be no means for instituting justice in this world. It literally cannot be done. We also cannot take ourselves out of this reality without risking the experiencing of tremendous pain but we feel euphoria when participating in the act that brings another being into it.
This was sort of a long response and I don’t know if you actually read all of it, but in any case I just wanted to say that I don’t have any proof of there being a “creator” but given how little I can ever understand about the world and my allied conviction that we exist as some type of cyclical energetic sexual resource, I do believe some type of intelligence is behind the existence of it all.

I copied the wrong video at the first link. Here is the right one:
