The era of God and now the era of Satan

It was 2,000 years of God, and now it will be 2,000 years of Satan. Why did the God era come to an end. I think it hit the end of the road for this cycle. Eg.. 'be fruitful and multiply' doesn't make sense when there is 8 billion people in the world.

Will the era of God come back. Yes I think 2,000 years from now the era of Satan will be hitting the end of the road.
