as I use Linux
face nerd GIF by JoyPixels
jokes asides once i considered switching to linux

yea, w11 is slower on my old laptop.

I'm glad, it will work the same as before. They will just stop updating, I hate updates, I never want to restart my laptop.

Linux is ugly and I will never use it, blackpill is real.

lol but it has so many desktop environments.

MATE, Cinnamon, KDE, Fluxbox... and also those strange tiling ones that people go on about. And many others.

Plus many of them you can theme and modify lots.

If you are worried about security then install kaspersky, I remember there is a perfect crack recently on techtobo.

And no, don't use linux, this buggy thing can't be used for anything other than server. Linux users are masochists and can't accept that linux can't be used, they will never dare to reveal the time they fixed their buggy system because that's the only thing they do when using linux

'They' want you to upgrade, it's a fear mongering tactic. I'm happily using my windows 10 with no issues. If anything I might go backwards to windows 7.

Windows XP time

Use IoT LTSC and enjoy your win10 support
Only Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2021 (version 21H2) will have support until 2032-01-13.

lol that's so strange that you said Linux users are masochists because just yesterday I was saying that Windows users must be masochists to put up with all the stuff that MS do!

As for Linux bugs:

a) choose a decent distro
b) use compatible hardware
c) possibly you may still have more "bugs" than on Windows or Mac I'm not sure, but if so I don't think it'll be by much.

Windows XP time

Maybe 98SE? lol

Any Linux distribution is pretty much the same, they just differ in a few basic functions and packages.

The real problem with Linux is that it is very buggy, and it also lacks a lot of Windows-only apps, and most Linux apps are on Windows. A lot of Linux apps are old and not developed

If you can't fix Windows bugs, don't even think about fixing Linux. The more apps you install on Linux, the more likely the OS is to get fucked.

Windows' useful tweaking capabilities are much better than Linux's and more stable, Linux is usually more tweakable but it is buggy and fucks itself.

Anyway, it doesn't matter much, we use OS for apps, who uses OS for memes

This theory that all Linux destroys are basically the same... it's really not true. I know people like to throw it around. I've been using Linux for a long time and the distros are really different.

A lot of the stuff you're saying... I'm not sure where you're getting this information? Have you used Linux much before? I'd disagree with pretty much all of it, although I do find Xorg a bit unstable so I'm glad that Xlibre is being developed as that should help a lot there.

As for the other points:

- app selection... yeah it's not as broad as on Windows but you still have lots of great apps for the vast majority of things you do on a PC

- I find it easier to fix Linux than Windows because it gives me more control. I don't think there's a problem with installing lots of applications as long as you're doing it reasonably (apt, flatpak, etc)

- the best way to tweak Linux really is to select the desktop environment that you like the most. Then you can use its own customisation features to make it look and act how you want. If you want to change the boot screen or login appearance/behaviour or something then for sure it's not always a smooth ride (depending on what you're doing) but to be fair you're doing something pretty advanced.
