Charlie Kirk and his killer were both clearly not neurotypical, and probably autistic to boot.
Kirk, for his part, lacked charisma and was perceived as weird by many, which explains the fact that he rose to prominence not through grassroots support but rather big-donor money.
As for his shooter, it is known that most transsexual individuals are autistic, so it would naturally follow that most men who date them would be as well. His "quiet" nature and emotionless demeanor also testify to autism.
This assassination is a good illustration of how autistic paths in life can diverge and even conflict. An autist can either follow a rigid, rule-based order such as Christianity and enjoy engaging in a rather repetitive task like debating à la Charlie Kirk; or go down a more narcissistic path like his assassin.
Or, perhaps, both, because one must imagine that the shooter subscribed to rigid political standards himself -- standards even more uncompromising than Kirk's Christianity. Indeed, Kirk's wife was Catholic, and he was married in a Catholic Church, which is something that Kirk would have had to reconcile with his own evangelical Christianity. Did his shooter ever have to compromise on his own beliefs? Doubtful. For him, even the mild stress of a debate or difference of opinion was too triggering to his autism and caused him to meltdown into murder.
