No, the weak religions don't "evolve", they get corrupted and subverted by pressure from secular society. The strong religions survive or all of their members get killed off, which is a much better end than becoming the pathetic shit that Christianity is now.
When you say Islam, there is not one kind of it you know that right ? Same applies for Christianity. Separation is inevitable in most of the religions. All the things change, even the most strict cults. It was always about power not about the idea.
There isn't as much separation as there is in Christianity and last time I checked they still stick strictly to their doctrine and they fight Western influence as much as possible.
Things change when people let them. Islam is really the last religion left, I'm not a religious person, but if I was going to convert to any religion (to get the perks) it would be Islam. Of course that's only if I move to an Islamic country like Qatar, Saudi Arabia, etc. There's no point in being a Muslim in a corrupt Western society.
