The Case for Drug Legalization

I think drug legalization is compatible with conservatism because a man can become a drug dealer and perhaps earn a family wage on which he can support a stay-at-home wife and kids. Based on this, perhaps drug legalization can increase the birth rate, which is good. Because drug dealing can provide an income, perhaps drug dealing can reduce abortion because poverty is a risk factor for abortion according to a study by the Guttmacher Institute. Perhaps drug legalization would also reduce the poverty and abortion rates of drug users too because in the current system drug users can be incarcerated, which means their wives lose their income.

Agreed, people should be able to do whatever they want as long as they aren't hurting others, the government shouldn't involve itself in stuff like that
