I think the minimum wage reduces the birth rate because it's based on the excuse and lie that people aren't paid enough to raise a family, though I'm not against welfare even though it may use the same logic. We already have a social safety net. We dont have a higher minimum wage to satisfy progressives. Also, the minimum wage causes unemployment of men, while I don't think welfare causes unemployment or lack of income since it is an income. Men need to be breadwinners to attract women.
We shouldn't make concessions with those who say, "I'm too poor to raise a child." Perhaps that logic can be used to defend abortion. We should change their minds so that they know they actually are capable of being parents already.
When they raised wages, a wife complained that it would've been better if it had been reduced instead of increased. This shows women may appreciate men with low wages as long as they have work.
The minimum wage means some men whose value is low can't become breadwinners. The minimum wage is a family wage already.

According to this webpage, women are the majority of minimum wage workers. The minimum wage makes women get paid more. When women have money they won't want to be dependent on a husband. Women shouldn't even be allowed to work. I don't know if we have a problem of low wages, but we seem to have a problem of wages being way too high - look at how expensive commercial surrogacy is though to be fair that's unrelated to the minimum wage.
This idea that the minimum wage suppresses the birth rate seems to be supported by this study: https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S0165176520304304
