...In the case of one of my characters who suffered a compound fracture of her arm and only had the one hand to start with, she was definitely not the pretzel type, and the situation was temporary, so she had assistance from other people. In her particular case this assistance came from her boyfriend and from the friend who she had been riding (a bicycle) with at the time of the accident since the other person received only minor injuries. (The fact that she could not brake with two hands and was riding a rented bicycle not modified for her might have had something to do with her going over the handlebars, but some idiot dive-bombing her with a kite undoubtedly had more to do with it.)

When you're playing videogames again this weekend, just know that there are men out there wiping the arse of their one-armed girlfriend, and probably feel honoured to do it too.
