This is a topic for those who master a language like Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Russian, Arabic: is the idea that looks matter more popular in non-western countries, or it's about the same as here?

I feel like being rich/high-status matters more in those countries, though I don't have any first-hand experience.

Looks still matter in most of those countries. Strictly speaking without the JBW/JBB topic, looks play a secondary role to wealth and status.

in asia, its more about status, ofc looks still matter alot, but at the end of the day whether u can marry is mainly dependent on your earning power

My thread was more about the general cultural attitude towards the "looks question".

In the West, it's pretty much taboo to mention looks IRL. I've heard the Chinese are far more blunt on the issue. In one of his videos SerpentZA mentioned that the Chinese will not hesitate to say you are fat, for instance.

In asia earning power is more important for marriage only. Asia is at the top for dead bedrooms. Once the woman has a kid the man may never have sex with his wife again. This is why cheating is so prevalent, and ultimately why looks is still king. Money/status is important for marriage, but to actually have sex looks is still at the very top.

Looks are VERY important, but status moreso in the long run. Most people in those countries value monemaxxing in the long run so will run the betabuxx game so that they can buy whatever they want later in life when their looks fade.

Hence why i can't import a wife from the old country. I'm just a wagecuck.

Yeah, but I feel as if that's more on the side of political correctness. In Japan, people won't say you're right outright but rather imply it.

Wealth + status > looks
Korea imo is the most different one as it doesn't play into the wealth and status idea for the younger gen as much anymore

I think a large percentage of the Korean population believes in lookism, you can look it up.

In Tunisia, although I haven't been there in a long ass time, such ideas are first world problems. I would say Tunisians would tell men to be "real men" in order to have girlfriends, as masculinity is so harshly culturally enforced in their culture (don't be an effeminate faggot in Tunisia lmao), but I would guess they would be more prone and realistic when it comes to how looks matter. Tunisians seem to be less mind-controlled than Westerners, although they're total authoritarian shitstains like other arabs

I wish it wasn’t so taboo to call out ulginess outright in the West, as long as you recognise it is not the fault of the person. The problem is that everyone subconsciously judges ugly people yet continue to insist that they don’t. The logic is inverted, it should be the other way round.
