They say, in Narcotics Anonymous, that everyone ends up dead who leaves.
That those who leave will always relapse back into drugs and overdose or die in some way related to drugs.

Well, I left. I’m alive and doing fine.
I haven’t used drugs in many years.

I’ve been sober longer than anyone who goes to those meetings.

Going to recovery meetings is not good for your recovery.
You will fall back into drugs if you keep going to meetings.

Think about it……..how many of those people have been there for many years and never went back to drugs?
Not many.

The real secret to quitting drugs long term is to fill that need with something else.
It can be anything or several different things.

Essentially replacing a harmful addiction with a healthy addiction.

Simply trying to quit drugs, without replacing them with something, is not going to be successful.

Even people who go to meetings every day are only filling an hour of time.
What are they doing the rest of the day?
The same things they were doing all along, nothing changed.

I’ve heard of alcoholics anonymous, but not narcotics.

Hi, I'm emba and I just got done cleaning out my wine fermentation vessels.
Replacing one addiction with another is actually a good idea, but unhealthier addictions always seem more addictive.
