The best Western countries for free speech?

This seems to be becoming a bigger and bigger issue now.

I think the USA is amongst the best, while Germany and the UK are amongst the worst.

But I think it would be great to expand these lists and maybe they'll help many members

My understanding is that Holland, Hungary, Poland and Switzerland have reasonable free speech protections? And some others I think but I'm still learning about all this so I don't want to throw out too many when I'm not sure!

None of these countries truly offer freedom of speech.

Germany and Austria are definitely the censorship champion of the West. Here, people like me are regularly persecuted and criminalized just for their beliefs. In Germany there are laws like §86a and §130 that punish any differing political opinion.

The situation is similarly bad in Austria with the Prohibition Law §3G, where expressing certain opinions can lead to up to 20 years in prison. Simply absurd!

Other countries that are particularly harsh against nationalists and restrict their freedom of movement and travel rights are:

• Sweden

• Great Britain

• Switzerland

• Poland

The entire EU is moving towards an Orwellian surveillance state. Billions are spent on the 'fight against the right,' creating a Ministry of Truth that dictates what can be published.

Switzerland isn't EU but you probably know. I'm from Germany but live in Switzerland, in both countries freedom of speech isn't great but 100x better than countries like Russia, Belarus, Serbia...

It's like they want people who support this new globalist version of their country and not the old nationalist one.
