Another fucking thing they appropriated.
So this symbol is an ankh (pronounced: ah- en - Kek), it's a symbol from ancient Egyptian mythology.
It represents the key to eternal life.
Goth would adopt the symbol, but not change the meaning of it, as it appears on shirts and jewellery that they wear.
I thought about getting a few pairs of shirts with this symbol on it some time ago, but I didn't.
Because upon looking at this symbol more, it reminded me of another symbol.
And no, not the Christian cross.
Then it hit me.
It's basically the foid symbol.
Look at that, then look at this
Their both pretty much the same shape and design.
You got a circular top with a vertical line beneath it and a horizontal line in the middle.
So yeah, obviously I'm not wearing a fucking foid empowerment symbol on my chest, so I ended up not getting an ankh shirt
