Fucks over incel early on (through puberty yes), but then it affects everyone because they'll lose something great that they once had (mentally they're not ready for what's worse to come (because the positive reinforment/feedback they've been used to recieving all of their lives are all gone) and that's why you see them have "middle-age" crisises). Even if they were to look back at the great memories they had, they would then become upset that stuff like that wouldn't ever happen again, and their expectations just dwindles but they still don't want to let go (just like those people that peaked in high scool, but just can't stop talking about it). Also, this is analogous to the height of pandemic where normies were losing their minds over having to isolate away from their friends and family (to us incels it was just another day to us).
As well as you already know that the window of opportunity keeps slowly closing away (water wet moment).
Things also overtime becomes less exciting, adventurous, and everything around you tends to lose novelty (as grow from being a kid into an adult. The curiosity you once had as a kid, just fades away into the abyss). When I see others complain about "wow this new [insert video game or show] is bad, it wasn't as good as before" well it's mostly that they've gotten older or have just grown up and are likely just nostalgiacoping (I'm sure people remember those that always shout and moan about being a "90's kids"). These are also the same people that gatekeep as well (and little outside of topic... they'd even go out of their way, just for there to be no remakes of it).
You also just feel it and it's quite hard to fully describe it, those over the age of 25 may understand this... but I digress.
