Behind the discourse surrounding the potentially abusive power/control that might be wielded by an older man in such a relationship, is really a sense of covetousness on the part of women

Namely, older women think they deserve to be prioritized over younger women among men of their age cohort, and so seek to make relationships where they are rendered redundant into something immoral

For their part, the extent to which younger women actually lack power in an age gap relationship is dubious, considering that having a relationship with an older man almost invariably means having access to more resources given that older men are more established than younger men

Indeed, if young, 18 year old women were to widely have relationships with 18 year old men (instead of dating older men), who here would stand to benefit the most? It seems like this situation would grant all the power/control to the 18 year old men, lol

But the roasties who talk about this shit don't actually care about young men and their access to relationships -- which goes without saying. They are not advocating for the rights of young men or young women, but trying to act as a sort of roast beef labor union or cartel, forcing older men to abide by their entitled demands and not dare replace them with younger "scabs"
