When you send job applications, people that compete for the same position you want are in your way.

When you are looking for a mate, people in the dating market are in your way.

You know their failure represents your success, and vice versa. It is tiring how everything needs to be a competition, how everyone expects you to compete, and how you are seen as a loser if you refuse to.

Yeah. I feel the same. Especially tiring when you're an uncompetitive specimen.
This is why I'm jelly of women mostly, I could be a beaten and defeated person (like now), but I'd still desirable nonetheless.
