If someone goes as far as commiting a crime, I'd say they have a reason for doing it. Otherwise they wouldn't do it, right? Even if they are just mentally ill, it's a good reason enough for me. Or even if they did something out of boredom, I can understand that. The boredom must have been really excruciating. So for example all incel-based crimes are not really crimes. They are just reaction to a need of commiting them. So crimes are not really crimes.
