I've known about tulpas since 2012 when I read about them on 4chan. I've lurked various tulpa communities off and on for a few years and tried "forcing" for a while in 2012 and again in 2014. I never made any real progress.

Furthermore, I've come to the conclusion that the majority of people in these communities that claim to have a tulpa are LARPing. I'm sure some are legit, but you probably have to be at least a little schizophrenic for it to work.
