All of the mainline final fantasies with an aryan chad protagohist are considered high quality but the ones with a dark haired protagonist with black eyes are mediocre.
Final fantasy 10, where you have a very romantic high quality game considered top 3 in the franchise. It even got a sequel. Then we have Final fantasy 12's Vaan who basically has gray hair who still did fairly well.
Vaan is not a real chad though, so he doesn't get a harem.

Yeah most of the strong light-haired female characters singlehandedly destroyed ff13 and ff12. On the other hand the submissive darker-haired females like Tifa and to some extent Aeris, who has darker hair, are considered extremely well done.
Note that games prior to ff7 have less good graphics overall so they will not be considered. Additionally, ff8 never gets talked about but it has a brown-haired, blue-eyed protagonist. who likely salvaged some of the game. After ff8, SE said no, we don't want that crap so they went back to medieval fantasy because FF8 didn't do as well as ff7. Then after ff9 they realized to some extent it may have been the aryan protagonist not the fantasy setting and they went back to sci-fi fantasy and aryan chad.
WMAF FF games are the most praised titles, and likely not a coincidence if females and realistic gamers are voting. It is over, even Square Enix's writers cannot handle the cognitive dissonance from writing an Asian chad. Their subconscious is forcing reality into their games.
