While I certainly don't iq mog him, writing a programming language isn't as impressive as it sounds, he didn't invent any of concepts or did anything his contemporaries couldn't do.
I think inventing template metaprogramming for example is more impressive.

C++ is a boomer language for making Windows desktop apps which nobody uses anymore. Everything is mobile apps and API servers now, and C++ is hardly ever used for these. Maybe console and PC games are still using C++ but thats about it.
