Sustained Korean productivity proves that Marx's eschatology is a product of sentiment

The social order of which the family is a binding unit has died a pitiful death in Korea
No rebellion, no crisis, no terrorist acts in its defense, counter-culture movements that exist solely online

The final reaction this millennia old status quo offered was a highly comedic one
Yoon, a privileged member of the aristocracy, who failed the bar exam nine times, became a popular prosecutor
He defended the 'old order' and rallied against wokeness with a childless wife that is the personification of commodification:

515151

Amid the economic downturn caused by COVID, he managed to squeeze out a victory in the 2022 presidential election

Given that the substructure was one that necessitated technocracy, his sentimentalist regime was obviously an impotent one
He lost the midterms, faced 15% approval and had his silicone companion put on trial as to exert additional pressure upon him

Faced with the lack of an escape mechanism, he declared the most degenerate self-coup in history
He called upon an uprising against the communist, anti-state forces - a revival of McCarthy era rhetoric was his last-ditch effort
Only the most fringe rallied behind him, millions rallied in the streets in support of the status quo
Yoon is now awaiting a life-sentence in an extremely emaciated state:

His atrophy is reminiscent to that of the system he nominally defended:
Lowest fertility rate in recorded peace-time history, sky-high amount single person households - complete social alienation

According to Orthodox Marxist thought, it would be inconceivable that such a superstructure wouldn't burst
It is completely divorced from the apparent 'social' nature of humans, in complete contradiction with the 'species-being' ideal

Yet, not only does it not implode, its economic output grows ever greater, its workforce more efficient, its industry more competitive

A substructure of such strength is evidently able to break millennia old institutions in a matter of decades
Humanity's subservience to the substructure is an unquestionable one, materialism is far more mechanical than dialectical

As qualitative economic shifts emerge, Marx's materialism will be regarded as infantile, much like that of Feuerbach was by Marx himself
Humans always underestimate the physical in favor of the mental, the abstract- sentiment is a product of a lack of insight into reality

(South) Koreans will die off, but the state will live on.

An uprising and a revolution are impossible in a technologically advanced society. Literally every message on social media is read by the secret services. In megacities, there are cameras on every corner, so by the time you organize and go outside, the police will be waiting for you with bulletproof vests, armored helmets, and rifles. In addition, the right to bear arms is decreasing worldwide, which means you won't be able to do anything against an armed and armored police officer. In Marx's time, there was more freedom to communicate, and there were no fucking cameras on every corner.
Ted Kaczynski fought against technological progress, because technological progress makes revolutions impossible. High level Technologically dictatorship is invincible.

You are heavily overestimating government power. Feds are not that special, if an individual wants to do anything they won't get him until it's too late. When it comes to armed, institucional resistance, I would say they are slow as well. Feds actually want you to think they are leviathan, that we live in 1984. We don't.

This is my opinion. When there were mass rallies in Russia in support of Navalny and many went to them and threw snowballs at the police, and then went home and two or three days later SWAT came to them, and all because these morons did not put on a mask and they were calculated by the police through the cameras after which they were identified, and then they were put in prison for three years.

If even Putin's corrupt regime can do this, imagine what a digital Gulag less corrupt governments could build.

Yeah, but this is a more obvious thing to do. I mean if you have actual high iq leaders trying to subvert society, I don't think cia will do anything. Niggas can't even kill Fidel Castro

Somehow I didn't get the notification for this.
The social order of which the family is a binding unit has died a pitiful death in Korea

Nothing survives the never ending grind of material conditions. I developed a rudimentary sense of these ideas even before ever reading into Marx and materialism, in my effort to try to make sense of the death of old social order and rise of inceldom.

I was unlucky enough to be born in a generation in my country that was in the transition period between the old and the new. Grew up thinking that sex before marriage is a grave sin only for my mother to tell me that she didn't mind if my wife had a body count. :feelshaha: .

and had his silicone companion
:lul::lul:

Frankly I had no idea he is facing jail time. I thought he was still in power.

the communist, anti-state forces -
Imagine active communists in South korea. I guess even sharing your toothbrush will earn you that accolade.

Shouldn't he have been opposing all of this considering what he stood for ? I know they cannot help but bend the knee to the substructure, but still...

, materialism is far more mechanical than dialectical
I never quite understood the difference. And why do you seem dialectic as sentimental?

I never quite understood the difference.

The OP clearly finds dialectics sentimental. Dialectical materialism is nowadays associated with the Stalin-era interpretation. Another reason why that period caused irreparable damage to the Marxist movement. Nonetheless, the problem with that interpretation is its idealism. History is presented as teleological. This framing abstracts dialectics from material conditions and class struggle turning it just into a philosophy instead of a tool for understanding society.

The OP clearly finds dialectics sentimental
The idea of superstructural independence, of whichever degree, is inherently sentimental
The orthodox theory of dialectics propagates this 'sentiment'

While analysis of interaction between the two is essential, the essence of the superstructure is misrepresented
The superstructure is nothing but a byproduct of the economic base and other determinants, it possesses no agency of its own

Ideas can reshape the relations of production, but they are solely reflections of an urgent need of change in the base

Orthodox Marxists were certainly aware of the idealist nature of dialectics, but dialectics are a necessity for agency reclamation
If Marxism would've been stripped of its eschatology and call to action, it would have been nothing more than a niche philosophy

I agree that the superstructure has no independent agency. Like you said, it is entirely determined by the economic base and the contradictions within it. Any claim that it can act on its own misrepresents the materialist method.

Dialectics is not a call to moral action or a universal law. It is a method for analysing material conditions and the contradictions within the economic base. The idea that dialectics is inherently idealist is mostly a tendency of Marxism-Leninism. Dialectics can't predict the future. It serves only as a guide to what is possible given material conditions. Ironically, it is supposed to guard against moralism.

Dialectics is not a call to moral action or a universal law
While dialectics don't inherently lead to a teleological outlook, they are the necessary precursor to it

You cannot claim that the revolution is not only inevitable, but a product of voluntarism, on the basis of mechanical materialism
Any claim that it can act on its own misrepresents the materialist method
If you see the superstructure as solely a byproduct rather than as an independent agent, your viewpoint is mechanical
The distinction between the two lies in exactly this, the total supremacy of the economic base as opposed to mutual alteration

The mechanical outlook doesn't deny the importance of the contradiction, it denies the sentimental nature of it which dialectics posit
