The Sunnis fought against the Jews at a time when Iran was the ally of the United States. The 1948 Arab-Israeli War, the 6-day war, the Yom Kippur War. These were three full-fledged wars involving the use of ground forces, army movements, aviation and navy, rather than missile attacks.

Turkey has not been punished for its invasion of Cyprus. Turkey has not been punished for sponsoring Islamic Sunni militants or being an international hub for radicals. This is because Turkey is the key to Israel's survival, as it is the only country through which the United States can provide support to Israel in the event of a war.
They have conflicting interests in Syria but yes, this will never actually become anything.
I also don't understand why Iran is involved in this shit. These crazy people in Iran's government are trying to sacrifice their country for some idea, just using their homeland as a match to start a global fire. Just like the Leninist Bolsheviks. The Sunni Arabs despise Iran on religious grounds, as they consider them to be infidels. China is literally buying oil at discounted prices because no one else will buy it, and Iran is forced to tolerate and sell oil to China at a low cost. Russia has abandoned Iran many times, and it did not evacuate pro-Iranian militants on its planes when the Assad regime was falling. It did not give them cool weapon.
From any confrontation that begins to take shape in favor of the enemy - you need to be able to get out with the minimum possible losses. The Italians left the Axis in 1943, so they lost only Trieste, islands in the Adriatic Sea in favor of Yugoslavia, island in favor of Greece and a couple of villages in favor of France. The Chinese are cunning and much more cunning than the Soviet Union. They are not stupid, and they will not feed the hungry people of the Third World just for the sake of it. Aha, China builds infrastructure for the poor countries of the Third World with the help of Chinese workers and engineers, and they never forgive debts to these shitty countries. If you cannot pay for the construction of a port, China will lease it to you for the next 300 years. China is a tough businessman who knows how to manipulate the market to their advantage. China will not give anything to anyone for free, and it will not forgive anyone's debts. I support this as a normal foreign policy. The Soviet Union gave billions to various Arabs, Negroes, and Asians, while the Soviet population had to wait for hours to get milk and bread, as they needed to feed the Third World in exchange for fake friendship. Meanwhile, China was ruthlessly pursuing its own interests. The Soviet Union has long since collapsed, but the People's Republic of China is still thriving today.
I'm pretty sure the Chinese are involved and want the US to lose as much as possible. Iran uses Chinese sattelites, it uses Chinese weapons, Chinese computers, Chinese chips, Chinese manufactured systems. The Chinese are the only ones which provide images of whether an Iranian strike succeeded or not. They are involving themselves as much as possible without actually going too far and facing reprecussions. Iran is a serf to China. It would be best if Iran had its own abilities but there is no option like this after years of sanctions. It can only surrender.
This time, they could actually defeat the evil if they all fought. Even on the Yom Kippur war, Egypt was hours away from Telaviv and the j00s had to blackmail USA for help.
