If a woman is extremely obese or extremely ugly, she will get a lot of men trying to get with her thinking "maybe I have a chance with her" or "she's less likely to reject me". They think there will be less competition, which ironically this leads to even more competition for sub4 women than there are for average women. This isn't just from sub5s either, a lot of decent looking dudes get lonely/desperate (even if they aren't incel, just being single a while can do this to an HTN or chadlite). Naturally, all this male attention leads them to having high standards and an inflated ego.

I have also personally known HTNs and above who were with sub4 women for a very long time.
