True, but how are you going to convince people to trade valuable things for the metal?Space and weight are big factors there aren't they?
Plus in the case of food it spoils and many other things get worn or damaged over time typically.

Yeah, I was initially thinking of a collapse scenario since a lot of "preppers" claim that it will continue to survive as a currency even after that.Because metals have value based on rarity and demand, right? ^^
It does depend on the circumstance. In the zombie apocalypse I agree people will have more important things on their minds! But that's not really the situation I'm thinking of.
