When I was in middle school I loved playing Madden and NHL games on my Xbox 360 because they were exotic, unknown sports (no one plays American football or ice hockey in Spain except from some very small amateur clubs) and I remember I could spend all the afternoon playing match after match or the career mode where you create your player and all that sheit.

Ironically now I find sports simulators one of the worst genres in the videogame industry. Not only they're repetitive and low effort games (they barely innovate from year to year) but also they're filled with microtransactions, loot boxes and gambling elements. The last NBA game caused a massive shitstorm because the online mode was basically a casino, to get good players the only way was to buy loot boxes or play roulette (with real money of course) so even if you payed there was a big chance you didn't get the players you want.

Sports simulators hurt the videogame industry with anti-consumer practices that later affect the rest of videogame genres, because the consoomer is too stupid and keeps paying kek. It also doesn't help that the target of sports simulator games is Chads, normies and boomers who don't know shit about games but call themselves "gamers" just because they play Madden, NBA, FIFA or whatever sports game there is. I know people that bought a Playstation just to play FIFA and maybe Call of Duty. Pathetic.

100% true. Never knew anyone into those games that wasn't also a complete simian brainlet. They're the Marvel movies of vidya without the Jew politics

When I used to play FIFA I used to play as Germany and verse Israel and absolutely hammer Israel.

Yep, Germany would destroy Israel in an irl soccer match. I wonder if they ever played
I want Germany to destroy Israel in football and with nukes tbh

I suck at fifa
Pes is much better
I never played american football and baseball because rules are weird with too many stop breaks. Hockey and basketball are much better video games.

just go play actual sports, it’s so much funner

This tbh. Hunting videogames like Cabela's are never are successful because hunters would rather go hunting in the woods irl than in a videogame. But sports fans are too lazy to play sports irl so sports videogames are very successful kek.

I'm addicted to FIFA. it's my cope now since i can't play soccer since we're in lockdown

That's exactly the worst part of the be-said "evolution" of video-games : all the video-game industry has become greedy as fuck.
And the fucking journalists lick the balls of all this because they have ad contracts with the biggests studios.

They're ruining our favorite fun activity for fucking money. This shit is like the cancer, now every kind of video game is infected by microtransactions, DLC's, shitty games on alpha or early access, kickstarters, season pass, and all those things.

Without Steam sales all this shit would have collapsed since years. But now even their sales are not as better as they were years ago. In those times, you had crazy -80% on almost everything. And now ? Barely 25%.

I dunno, I really loved Mario Tennis on the Game Boy Color when I was younger.

I remember enjoying Mlb The Show 12 and NBA from the same year. Also WWE Smackdown v Raw from the 2000s and also 2010-11 , don't know if they count

Mario games are not sports simulators because they're more arcade and unrealistic

Tbh I liked WWE games too, specially SvR 2007 that was the best wrestling game ever.

Never cared for the sports genre. Check out the RBI baseball series.

I guess I'm not familiar with "sports simulators," then. I grew up almost enitrely with Nintendo, and moved to PC gaming through RPGs and action-adventures.

only sport simulator I've ever played was Polar Bowler if that counts lmao

Gaming is nonsensical in general, the people who hate on sports games need to realise that their choice of game genre is equally as pointless and a waste of time. Also when you pay for these expensive games you are just making the developers wealthier who are usually low tier NT normies.

Niggas buy the same boring ass game every year

Yea, and Madden has become absolutely dog shit due to it having no competition because EA has the exclusive license to the NFL.

I will nvr understand ppl who buy playstation just to play ONLY FIFA or COD :feelsseriously:

not my favorite, they are ok but i dont play them. Thats why I wanna learn how to surf IRL :feelsLSD:

Interesting story :society:

What are they going to change JFL it's based off the real games and they cant change the field, court or whatever :feelskek:

I would say that it shouldn't be one of those games that comes out every year because of that repetitive nature that they all have.

Microtransactions basically exist in all games today, I remember seeing them in 2014 :feelswhat:
