In the US, you have to be in a sport, or you're guaranteed to be an incel. Usually in the US, it's probably something like volleyball or basketball, which really sucks because I'm sure most of the users here are not fit to be in any sport.
The influence of athletics is so strong, that it overrides other hobbies people have.
A girl I knew used to play violin, which was uncommon, eventually quit to join volleyball because all the other girls did it. I remember I was at her house, when her mom openly argued with her about how they sunk thousands of dollars on lessons and books just for her to give up. The girl's excuse was "I have sports mom."
Her mom responded saying that "You do nothing but sit on the bench with your friends all day."
Any other non-athletic extracurriculars, like band or theatre, were reserved primarily for rejects like me. However, even the few hot nerdy girls that were interested in the niche stuff, were Chad only anyways.
Athletes will always be more valued in the US than scholars and scientists, which is so retarded because it really does nothing to advance society. Can Tom Brady cure cancer? probably not, but Tom brady instantly get's stacy wet, while a pile of doctor degrees impresses no one but Medicalcels. I get that sports are cool, but people should value things that are important.
