!LOW IQ RANT INCOMING!
[SPOILERS FOR CLASSROOM OF THE ELITE]
I spent 9 or 10 fucking months reading year 1 of classroom of the elite even though I watched the entirety of year 1 in the anime.
I thought I could get a better understanding of the story as I’ve heard the anime cuts some of ayanokoji’s thought processes; which it absolutely does. I get through FOURTEEN 200 page novels, which is no easy task for me as I’m a low attention span daydreaming brainlet, of shit I’ve already fucking seen in hopes year 2 will be some masterpiece. I definitely enjoyed most of year 1 even though quality is very inconsistent. You get one of the best volumes in the whole series being volume 7 having immaculate build up to the Ryuen fight which a 20 minute episode can’t dream of matching and genuine high iq playmaking from kiyotaka that doesn’t feel like main character syndrome followed by volume 8 being a lazy rehash of volume 3’s uninhabited island exam while also copying shit from volume 5 and making it worse.
So i get through all of year 1 and move on to year 2. The main idea of it so far is that some kid who grew up in the same facility as kiyotaka is trying to get him expelled but the identity of the kid is hidden from the reader . Year 2 volume 1 was ok but didn’t feel nearly as good as what came before it
So I’m scrolling social media one day and I find a teaser of COTE season 4 and In the comments some retard spoils that YAGAMI IS THE KID TRYING TO GET HIM EXPELLED. I was already fuming and ready to give up considering the first volume wasn’t that good but I continue. I read half of volume 2 and THE VERY FIRST special exam is A REHASH OF THE UNINHABITED ISLAND EXAM IN YEAR 1 VOLUME 3. I wouldn’t have minded it as much if this SAME FUCKING EXAM WASNT ALREADY REHASHED AND MADE WORSE IN YEAR 1 VOLUME 8.
I went into year 2 expecting some mastERpiece and they give me this shit HOW HAS THE WRITER GOTTEN LAZY ALREADY. I’ve already heard that the series goes to shit aftER volume 4 of year 2 anyway. I already fucking regret making this post I should at least get to volume 4 before making any judgements but the fact the very first exam they want to open up this new year with has already been done before isn’t looking good.
