It sounds dramatic, but sometimes in our darkest hour, a certain song, melody, and/or lyrical theme can pull us out of deepest despair. Anyone else have some to share?
I have four, two of each are from the same band and the same album. First, from Mastodon's The Hunter is the title track, The Hunter.
The lead guitarist's brother died in a hunting accident while this album was recorded. This song feels like a tribute and a farewell to him and includes the most raw, emotional guitar solo I've ever heard. I get choked up every time I hear it. It rarely fails to draw feelings out of me that I repress just to function on a daily basis.
