But, I rewatched this scene today, and found a brutal detail you probably missed.

5 seconds in, if you listen carefully, you can hear a giggle. Not just any giggle, it's too highly pitched, too childlike for it to have come from a man. Since kids probably aren't allowed in these clubs, that is the giggle of a woman. They are enjoying themselves, while The Hero and Raphael are on the sidelines, watching the brutality unfold, as they are mocked by the others in the club. It's so fucking brutal.

That’s literally our whole existence distilled into a single moment. They’re laughing, drinking, living life on easy mode while we’re on the sidelines like NPCs in someone else’s story.

The Book in my opinion is way more brutal than what the scene depicts and Raphael is much more trucel than what the actor José Garcia portrays him as.
