Even when they move out and no longer have to fear their parents they’re still scared of ‘getting in trouble’ with them. Like their parents can’t even do anything to them anymore and they’re completely free yet they still instinctually obey their rules and curfews

I've had this lingering feeling my whole life, although I don't consider my parents to be that strict. I would say "psychologically controlling" or "narcissistic" as being more accurate.

Even when they have no chance of finding out you still obey their arbitrary commands and rules

Can relate.
They mindraped me.
Physically abused me for minor things.

I had a coworker years back who asked about my parents and asked if they "corrected me a lot". Almost like he just knew how they were

It's a double whammy being incel tier in looks and also a robot scared of being "corrected" all the time

This is exactly how I feel, even though I was only on the strict (not abusive) side of it. I compulsively update them on things like what exams I have coming up or how much I've been sleeping.

What little independence I gained a college is going to disappear in a month though, a fact that is becoming harder to ignore by the day.
