What does curry even taste like? I've never tried it. Is there a certain type you like the most? Where can I get some high quality curry to try? and if I eat too much will I start to smell like it? srs

shit in street to summon #1 curry chefs to you instantly

It tastes the best ever. IMO Karahi = Best

Depends, where do you live?

OFC not.
East coast US. Don't really wanna get into further detail but there is literally 0 curry presence where I live.

It tastes really good but i always see non curries eat it without rice or some time of carbs don’t do that.
Most of it you eat with your hands as well, so it will usually stink you can eat it with a spoon or fork but it’s hard to mix the curry and rice

How about I use your mouth as a toilet?

Also I would recommend eggplant or lentil or long beans curry i don’t like meat but it’s up to you

Oh fuck yeah I'm willing to learn. I really wanna try authentic indian curry but I don't wanna go to India and get parasites
Hmm... do you want me to link you direct recipes to some common curry? Keep in mind while I'm a vegetarian, I can link you some meat ones if you want...

Yeah definitely! I would really appreciate it man. I'm gonna try all types of it over the summer

Curry is more of a verb than it is a noun. One can "curry" anything, lentils, beans, potatoes, carrots...however its also used like a noun as you probably noticed. The taste would be dependent on what spices you put in the curried object. (there are many many many variations all leading to different tastes).

"curries" in India (and outside) vary considerably with location. in the north, curries have a creamy milky base thats sweet with cashew nut bases. the are usually very subtly spiced. going down towards the south, they get hotter, some more sour, coconut milk bases. You'll find more meat dishes in the south as well. This is still somewhat of an oversimplification. If you want to be attributing a generic "taste" to "curry", the dishes from specific locations would have a certain class of taste and texture and base and spice combos

Look for a franchise called saravana bhavan. Their Chole Bhature is f##king epic. (its all vegetarian though)
This is a street food. You would do well to use your fingers. if you dont wash them after you've eaten then you would smell a bit like curry. If you legit cooked a curry on your own your clothes might smell a bit like the spices used... unless youre a complete n00b and you burnt it :p

The word curry is actually largely a western invention, based on garam masala. North indians don't usually use the word curry.
