Yes, man, we are on the cusp of a disaster so crystal clear whereby societal collapse is completely and totally within the realm of possibility.
For example, and to further elaborate, here are just a
few environmental statistics:
1. "75 percent decline over 27 years in total flying insect biomass in protected areas"
2. "Since 1970, Earth has lost a whopping 49 percent of global marine animal species"
3. "Globally, monitored population sizes of mammals, fish, birds, reptiles, and amphibians have declined an average of 68% between 1970 and 2016, according to World Wildlife Fund's (WWF) Living Planet Report 2020. Populations in Latin America and the Caribbean have fared worst, with an average decline of 94%."
4. "The years 2016 and 2020 are tied for the warmest year on record."
5. "Data from NASA's Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment show Greenland lost an average of 279 billion tons of ice per year between 1993 and 2019, while Antarctica lost about 148 billion tons of ice per year.7"
6. "Glaciers are retreating almost everywhere around the world — including in the Alps, Himalayas, Andes, Rockies, Alaska, and Africa.8"
7. "Global sea level rose about 8 inches (20 centimeters) in the last century. The rate in the last two decades, however, is nearly double that of the last century and accelerating slightly every year.10"
8. "Since the beginning of the Industrial Revolution, the acidity of surface ocean waters has increased by about 30%.13,14 This increase is the result of humans emitting more carbon dioxide into the atmosphere and hence more being absorbed into the ocean. The ocean has absorbed between 20% and 30% of total anthropogenic carbon dioxide emissions in recent decades (7.2 to 10.8 billion metric tons per year)."
Similarly, we can discuss about the political situation within the United States.
Particularly, inequality rates and, likewise, how this perpetually, without a hitch, correlates with major political stress; therefore, resulting in this inevitable, cyclical 'social collapse'
somewhere down the line.
Since, inequality rates, if it's at a certain threshold, will almost (if not always) result in a social collapse.
This aforementioned collapse is looking as if it's going to occur near the pipe-end of the 2020's or a little later.
(Episode of the Belgian Revolution of 1830, Gustaf Wappers) “…Indeed, what do increasingly frequent shooting rampages have to do with polarization in Congress? Or falling life...Read More

As well as that, we have another thing to consider: world currency is inflating at a rapid rate.
This is particularly alarming (especially at this rate) for this is always indictive of a beginning of a world crisis.
Furthermore, we could talk about how war, disease and how this will be undoubtedly present; this, together, will form a sort-of detrimental concoction by the likes the world has ever seen.
I can clarify on the disease part (since it's way more simpler) I feel as if this is the most worrying.
In particular, antibiotic-resistant bacteria are inevitably going to cause a tremendous amount of problems soon whether we like it or not.
Like, we are merely scratching the surface when it comes to the factors and possibilities.
Certainly, we are not simply ready for this to unfold; everyone is unprepared and this will undoubtedly result in even more horrendous outcomes.
I mean, fuck, just look at how us, Americans, reacted to toilet paper shortages; or that puny snowstorm in Texas; and that recent oil pipeline shut down.
Clearly, nobody is fucking ready for what's coming. Everyone is seemingly pretending like everything is okay, ignoring the reality of what's ahead.
Until, that is, when it's ignorable, however, that's specifically when it's too late.
We are truly fucked as a species and, if I'm going to be honest, couldn't be happier of our ineptitude.
