I made the mistake in secondary school of hanging out with unpopular people. I made friends with the football jocks and played football with them a lot. Ironically, it seemed that the jocks cared more for me than my own “friends” as it seems that failed normies do not want to see you do well hence why my friends refused to go to the gym with me or play football, one even claiming that “they would rather be fat”.
So basically at registration I was grilled by members of the table next to us asking me why I was sitting with them, and why I am with them etc and claims that I was a sideman and basically an accessory, because it didn’t seem I was talking to them much.
What’s ironic is that I’m not a talkative person, I only talk when I feel it is important, even with my close friends. Of course girls still ignored me, but the popular kids and I could bond over sport, because they had respect for those who had skill etc etc.
I learned that no matter who you associate yourself with you will always be thought of as a loser.
