In the current days even “rich developed countries” (uk, us, canada, australia, new zealand, western and north europe, south korea, japan, singapore, china) have low quality of life for many people because even ordinary housing become unaffordable luxury for most people.
Mass homelessness, mortgage slavery, all this indicates that things are bad.

You're speaking facts. Except that "fertility rates are falling everywhere". They got a real boost in Central Asia in the last years, where they promoted radical islam instead of post-Soviet secularity.

Realisticly, as a sociologist, I see 3 main way of coping.

First way can be and is already emplemented in liberal societies, in demographics it is known as 'third demographic transition' (first described by David Coleman), they use immigration and integration of immigrants as replacement for autochthon population.

Second way implies changing perception of giving birth, effectively raising it higher than simple replacement level (conventionally 2.1, new demographic researchs show it's actually higher though). This way makes having children a duty in a society. On a whole world scale we either emplement it or die as a specie.

Third way, similarly to second, raise the fertility rates above the replacement level, however it does it through segregation and degradation. For instance, by imposing islam fundamentalism or closed conservative rural communities (like the orthodox Jews or the Amish people). This way would hurt society a lot, so it wouldn't be actually emplemented by civilised countries on a big scale.

Of course, I don't talk about raising clones or anything else that won't be possible to apply in the next 50-100 years.
