Despite my truck maxing thread, I wanna make a quick refresher that even if its not a semi truck. If its like a toyota tacoma or ford f250. Well theres gonna be some factors you'll need to put in for truck driving.
One is that as for all heavy vehicles, the heavyer the vehicle is, the more pro-active you'll need to be in breacking. Dont be going past the speed limmit. You see how in some of the videos the semi trucks back up? Thats because they were going to fast and went well past the stop line at a intersection because they either went to fast or didnt breack early enough. Slow down. Dont rear end some poor worn out civic that problably has some broke ass 20 year old in it.
Blind spots. Because the vehicle is nice and high, your gonna have alot of extra blind spots even in front of you. Think of how kids cross the streets. They will be short in height. If you got a tall ass 4 runner, news flash, you problably wont see the kids if there close enough to the grill because the height of the front end will tower the kids. Keep that in mind. Also unless you have a rear camera, you'll have a blind spot back there as well.
Mirrors. Adjust them properly so you dont have blind spots and can use them accordingly. Dont wanna side swipe somone on the free way now.
Size: due to the size of big ass trucks and gigga wagons, they will take up more space on the road especially in tight urban or suburb areas. The blind spots will make it worst. Make use of the mirrors.
Beacon: despite all these blind spots the size of your vehicle should be more easy to notice making people i theroy more wary of you and more likely to avoid you. In theroy that is.
Overall, dont have much time till work is up for me. But remember what I mentioned above. It'll save you some bullshit and problably some legal liability. Not just for semi trucks but really any type of big ass vehicle. Stay safe. Dont end up on these videos of truck trashing. Good luck fellow-cels.
