TLDR - Don't be a naive attention whore and there's no need to worry about these things:
1. Nobody who isn't in law enforcement cares about your IP address and very few who aren't can access it, so there isn't even a need to use a VPN, especially if you aren't in America (the land of the "FREE", which statistically houses less than 5% of earths population but also houses 20% of the worlds incarcerated ).
Also there is obviously no point in starting to use a VPN on sites you've already used before without one, your IP is already logged (this goes double if you have an account on these sites, there's already a history of that account logging in via X IP address).
Lastly, if you think some VPN will stop law enforcement from knowing you made X post on X day you are an idiot, it will stop normie moralfag hackers from doxxing you, it won't stop law enforcement at all.
2. Don't say that you are going to commit a crime in a direct way or even harm yourself (that's the only time law enforcement will take your IP address into consideration and act on it - come to you directly or contact you). [STOP ATTENTION WHORING]
You can say "I'd like to go ER" or "i'd like to kill myself", you can say "One day i'll go ER" or "One day i'll kill myself", but you can't say "I plan on going ER (or killing myself) very soon" or "I plan on going ER (or killing myself) on X date" or "I plan on raping/killing X person" (like that retard that got doxxed for saying "my next rape victim" and posted an image of the girl. I don't feel sorry for attention whores, I'm glad he got his life fucked up).
3. Don't give out extremely personal detailed information about yourself like events that took place among your family, friends or work place, that are significant enough that they could be linked back to you. [STOP ATTENTION WHORING]
For example I recently talked about a conversation that took place between co-workers about sex, that is insignificant, but there's shit that has happened at work that would make great black pill stories here that I'd never talk about, because its too specific and if someone were to see it could probably lead back to me.
4. Don't post images of where you live, images of yourself, or images of family members / friends / co-workers / associates / etc. [STOP ATTENTION WHORING]
You literally have nothing to worry about online where it comes to privacy, if you aren't:
1. Doing anything illegal online
2. Saying you plan on doing something illegal
3. Doxxing yourself via specific details and/or images
Online privacy is a meme, if you think google (or your ISP - Internet Service Provider) doesn't already know you like to jerk off to lolicon hentai you are an idiot, a profile already exists on all of us, don't worry about your data, worry about not doing anything that could get you in trouble.
5. The more tactics you employ to have privacy the less you will enjoy using the internet (that's the irony of it all). VPN's slow down your internet, there's nothing worth finding on Tor that you can't just torrent or stream (and Tor is slow as fuck), etc.
Just get Ad Block, that's it, all this change your DNS settings and use a VPN nonsense only makes sense if you are a hacker or engaging in illegal activities that are worth the time of law enforcement (No they aren't going to raid your apartment/house because you torrented some movies, they have bigger fish to fry, like child porn rings).
There's healthy paranoia, and then there's stupidity.
