I have a friend whom I grew up with and he's become my best friend for a long time, and he is still my friend in theory. But he's become extremely successful while I've faced tremendous hardships. He's also given me bad advice because he looks at things from a POV of a privileged person who does very well for himself. I still make significantly more than the average person, however, it's nothing compared to what these people are making (10 to 15k USD a day), I barely make 5-10% of that.
It's caused a lot of gaslighting. From being called gay numerous times due to being incel, him not keeping promises (for example you get 10k if you do this and that, and then being told I get only a small portion of it for even more favours). I think he enjoys it sometimes, to see my life being shit and gaslighting me for it.
But I'm also grateful for a lot of things he's done for me. It's tough. For me, what broke the trust is not keeping his word and abusing the position he holds over me.
