I would say invest into disc media now that it’s cheap. Bluray and dvd, vhs wears down as you play it. When AI becomes too advanced and people can’t tell real from fake only immutable media like pressed disks will be trusted.

I like DVDs yeah. They do age too, but yeah probably not as badly as VHS.

I remember those. Oh how I envy you.

We still have our VHS recorder and Ii own a DVD player from Sony.

I feel like these days physical media is starting to look more tempting again.

Because of things like this:

- over-the-top security on websites
- DRM and stuff meaning you need to use a supported browser and up-to-date browser
- restrictions on what operating systems you can use, while Windows continues to get worse
- stricter laws on file sharing I think, and torrent sites shut down or blocked
- free streaming sites blocked or shut down

So all of these things... make DVDs look a whole lot more appealing again. And VHS if you're feeling especially brave!

True, that's a reason why I bought excessive physical hard drives for my PC. 30TB of storage and I'll probably get more.

No matter what type of storage you get, it's going to die at some point, so whatever.
