I'm standing in line and turn around for a second and grab something, nobody is behind me. Just a second later some angry black woman with dreads comes up behind me and goes "oh I guess you were there first". Me being a human I just say thanks, then she says "oh you're a fucking douchebag" or something other lame insult.

Usually they just want to reliever their stress by getting into a shouting match. If you ignore them without looking timid or frightened like you are waiting on them, they will drop it.
