The only reason shitskin exists in the first place is to protect against sun
Surprising it isn’t only blocking UV rays, but also visible. You woukd think evolutionary pressure would have made people want to become white skinned while also blocking the UV rays specifically (which would be invisible to us).
 
I doubt there's a biological pigment that blocks UV and not visible light
There’s literally flowers that are white to us, but have beautiful colour patterns in UV that birds see.
 
They reflect uv differently but how can you block a certain spectrum and not the rest? sunglasses do that but I don't think there's anything biological for that
Colours are a result of certain wavelengths being absorbed, and the rest being scattered back. If they could only block blue light and above, they would be orange coloured instead of black. They would have been moggers.
