Given the current rate of technological progress, do you really think sex will remain a big thing forever?
It will soon be possible to derive gametes from normal cells in vitro, making testicles and ovaries useless. Creating artificial wombs will be a more lengthy process but they don't strike me as impossible. Even women will embrace the advent of artificial wombs, since they will drastically reduce the risk of miscarriages, developmental disorders and injuries linked to childbirth. A fine-tuned developmental environment will be overwhelmingly preferable to all women but the most superstitious or narcissistic.
I am not even accounting for other scenarios, perhaps in fact more likely, that will make sex a crude and unnecessarily conflict-inducing remnant of our evolutionary history. Such as cyborgization and mind upload.
