There are things like hobbies, socialization, education etc. that also theoretically technically aren't needed to live as you just need to be fed, hydrated, slept and physically safe and warm
Yet sex is the only thing that "isn't the only thing in life" and you should "find hobbies", "there's more to life than sex" bla bla bla
Where does this cognitive dissonance come from?
Maybe it's subconscious collective influence from christianity due to abrahamic religion hatred of anything worldly, virile, good, pleasurable, expressive
So a lot of people not even consciously aware of it, have integrated this belief that sex is somehow "separate" and "lower" from other parts of human existence and thus "more animalistic" as if humans were somehow split into different platonic levels and not whole in one and itself
