idk where you get the idea of self love applied to men, it seems to me it's more a thing in woman world. i must somewhat agree that self-hate can be productive. over a decade ago i weighed what i weigh around now (fatass) and out of self-disgust i managed to diet off 100 pounds. now that i permabulked back to this awful weight but lack the self-loathing, i'm finding it hard to lose it again.

but i think you have to be careful about self hate. good self hate is like "i hate how i am right now. [proceeds to do thing that makes me better]" this is still in service of yourself. bad self hate is making yourself spiral into worse and worse condition.
